International Adoption is a very complicated and at
the same time is a very rewarding process. Thousands and thousands
families adopt every year from overseas. Orphans Adoption is proud
to be part of this exciting process and making some ground braking
changes in the way it’s done. Our agency solely focuses on the
family and its needs rather then simply on the paperwork alone like
many other agencies do. We stay close to our families through the
whole process of international adoption from start to very end.
From your fist phone call or email to Orphans Adoption you will be
working with a live person and will be able to talk on the phone
with a live person whenever you needed in order to resolve any
obstacles or confusions (we are not supporting automated phone
services, and if you call us during business hours there always be
a live person answering your phone on the other side with the
greeting from Orphans Adoption).

ECUADOR INTERNATIONAL ADOPTION: GENERAL INFORMATION
Some agencies working with Ecuador adoptions have put their programs on hold
until the new children's code is implemented in that country during summer 2004.
The new law will, among other things, require adopting parents to remain in
country with the child they hope to adopt for a period of up to one month while
the attachment process between parents and child is assessed. Only after a
positive assessment will an adoption be approved.
Children available for adoption include infants, sibling groups, older and special needs children, both boys and girls. These children reside in orphanages or foster care. In 2001 (last year reported), U.S. citizens adopted approximately 50 children from Ecuador.
Travel required: Under the current children's code, two trips are required for both parents (if married), of two weeks and one week (approximately) respectively.
Singles accepted: Yes
Other: Married applicants can have no prior divorce. Unless single parents are 30 or more years older than the child they wish to adopt, single women may adopt only girls, and single men may adopt only boys. Post-placement reports until the child reaches majority.

What Happens During a Homestudy?
During a homestudy, you will meet with your social worker several times. A homestudy usually includes separate interviews for you and your spouse in the social worker’s office. At least one meeting with the social worker happens in your home – the dreaded home visit. The home visit gives the social worker a chance to see where your child will be living.
